Fiction Work:
I have published and sell both hard copy and ebooks through Amazon. The Adventures of Caitlin and Rio are a series of chapter books for audiences ages 8 – 12. All artwork (cover and illustrations) by Sally Alexander.
This is the first book in the series. Caitlin and Rio, her amazing Ragdoll cat have to save the world. Someone has stolen all the colors. Rio has been mysteriously altered: he can now talk like a human and he has superpowers – mind control and telekinesis (he can move objects with his mind.) He can only perform his mind control on cat people, also known as highly suggestible humans. Join Caitlin, Rio and their best friends Molly and Trudie as they hunt for clues. They find out that MacDougal, a notorious criminal mastermind has duped poor Professor Pinch, and plans to use the Professor’s invention against the world.
Can they stop him in time?
Can they restore color?
This is the second book in the series. Join Caitlin, Rio and their friends Molly and Trudie on another exciting adventure. MacDougal, the international terrorist and criminal mastermind has not been found. Rio knows it’s only a matter of time before MacDougal comes back. Rio knows he has to be fully recovered to protect his humans. But something odd is happening. Blue eyed cats are disappearing. Where are the missing cats? Who is taking them? It’s up to Caitlin, Rio and their friends to solve the mystery.
In the third book in the series, Rio, Caitlin’s extraordinary cat is certain that the wild turkeys are up to something. Why are they watching the house? Why did Angus, Mr. Brewster’s little dog offer the male turkey his special throwing ball?
Catilin and Rio find out that the wild turkeys have come with a special purpose – to warn Rio. Beware the silver water!
What could that mean?
Then Caitlin and Rio offer to shelter the wild turkeys during a bomb cyclone and blizzard over Thanksgiving.
What could go wrong?
Join Caitlin and her extraordinary cat, Rio who can talk like a human and has superpowers of mind control and telekinesis in the fourth book in the series. We meet Daisy, the time traveling ferret. Daisy has forgotten how to go home. Caitlin asks Daisy for help. She wants to travel back in time and stop MacDougal, the international terrorist and criminal mastermind. But time travel is dangerous. One wrong move could destroy everything.
MacDougal, international terrorist and criminal mastermind is back in the fifth book in the series. Meatloaf, MacDougal’s cat who is working undercover for the Circle has an assignment for Caitlin and Rio. Why is MacDougal so interested in the new family who has just moved in? And what’s with the coyotes? They seem to be more aggressive than normal. The neighborhood holiday decoration competition is jeopardized when suddenly all the decorations come alive.
And then MacDougal is seen at the Annual Bigby Holiday Party.
What is MacDougal planning?
Whatever it is it’s up to Caitlin and Rio (and some holiday inflatables) to stop it.
Non-Fiction Work:
Risk Management and Insurance Manual for Libraries. I was invited by my co-author, Mary Breighner to work on updating a previous edition of this book. Our managing editor was Jeanne Drewes. This work was published through the publishing arm of the American Libraries Association. This was a great experience and I greatly enjoyed working with Mary and Jeanne.
